Enhance your brand with LinkedIn

Enhance your brand with LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an online social network that’s geared toward business professionals. One could even say it’s like a “Facebook for the business crowd.” Whichever way you look at it, LinkedIn is specifically designed for professional networking. This includes job searching, discovering sales leads, and connecting with other business professionals. Whether it’s business to business or business to consumer, LinkedIn offers a plethora of opportunities for companies to promote their brand. If you’re considering creating a company page for your business, take note of these five tips to enhance your brand on LinkedIn.

Picture this – Infographics are changing the way that companies share information with their audience. That’s why visual media is so important to social marketing. Although the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” is rather cliché, this notion holds true especially with LinkedIn. Why? Because infographics and pictures are visually appealing and this is what makes them shareable. Not to mention, as a business professional yourself, you know that time is at a premium, so lengthy text posts aren’t the most favorable way to consume information. On the other hand, images and infographics articulate a larger message in a more digestible way.

Sing your own praises – Though your mother likely taught you to be humble with your accomplishments, for LinkedIn, it’s particularly important to “brag” about your accolades. In these posts, you can highlight the awards your company and even your employees have received from authorities and publications in your respective industry. As we said, in most cases tooting your own horn is frowned upon, however, in the LinkedIn world, it’s perfectly acceptable to boast about your accomplishments to show your competitors, clients and potential future employees the successes of your company. So, with that being said, “Toot, toot!”

You’re invited – If your company has an annual charity event, or perhaps your company is hosting an educational workshop, what better way to promote these occasions than through LinkedIn’s option of creating an event page? Simply create an event page and fill out all of the applicable information.  Once that’s completed, send out your invitations. The plus side of this LinkedIn feature is that when someone RSVP’s to your event, it will show up on their LinkedIn profile, which in turn will extend the reach of your event to their network as well.

Meet and greet – To build off the latter point, once you get a better feel for the people that will attend your event, take the time to send a personal message to those you have not yet connected with previously. Additionally, do your homework and study who will be in attendance – this way you’ll be able to maximize your time at the event.

Showcase showdown – It’s out with the old and in with new when it comes to LinkedIn’s showcase pages.  This new feature has since replaced the “Products & Services” tab. The showcase page gives companies the opportunity to highlight specialized content that their brand offers. These pages allow brands to craft messages that will engage different layers of their audience based on the product interest.  Rather than scrolling through pages of updates to locate product information, showcase pages keep all specified information in one convenient location where customers can easily access the product information that interests them.

Take note of these five tips to make your LinkedIn company page stand out among the competition and to attract followers and fans who are interested in what your brand has to offer.
