#Twitter tips to help promote your brand

Did you know that in the first quarter of 2015, a microblogging service calculated that there’s an average of 236 million active monthly users on Twitter?

If you’re just beginning to use Twitter or have been using this social site for quite some time, it’s always helpful to try something new to reach out to your audience and in turn grow your brand. With that being said, let’s delve into some Twitter tips that can help your business.

Build a strong foundation – A complete profile is a necessary piece to the promotional puzzle because it allows you to share details about your company that add to your brand’s overall story. In your profile, you’ll be able to showcase:

  • Your location– Where people can find you. This includes the city, state and country. You want to give them as much information as possible so that people far and wide can find you.
  • Website URL – Share your web address to your followers. This can be a link to your website or your blog. By doing so, this drives traffic to your site and provides additional information of interest that your followers are looking for about your brand.
  • Bio – Your bio is the perfect opportunity to concisely promote your brand in 160 characters or less. In this section, you’ll be able to tell people who you are and what you do. Skip the wordiness and talk about the benefits of your brand and what you can deliver to the consumers.
  • Profile picture – A solid profile picture is extremely important when trying to promote your brand. In this space you can showcase your brand’s logo so that it’s easily recognizable for those followers who know your company and for those who are learning more about your business.

Be different – When crafting tweets, you don’t want to be like the others in your industry. An overly sales-y tweet will prompt people to keep scrolling and bypass your information. If you do want to promote a giveaway or a new deal, go ahead and tweet about it, however, make sure that you offer useful information to validate its importance. As with most things in life, the notion “everything in moderation” applies to your Twitter activity as well. Incorporate a healthy mix of promotional and non-promotional tweets to your timeline.

Use #hashtags – A hashtag can be considered one of the most useful tools in your Twitter promotion arsenal. At its core, the hashtag is used to identify specific topics. Depending on your industry do your research and see what your target audience is interested in. Perhaps you own an antique store; post a tweet with an informative idea and add the hashtag #DIYTips to reach a wider audience who is also searching for that sort of information. Now, when it comes to hashtags, you want quality not quantity. With that being said, refrain from overusing hashtags in your tweets. Instead you’ll want to strategically place your hashtag before words that you feel will drive the most traffic to your Twitter page.

Consider using these tips and tricks help grow your brand on Twitter.
