If you’re new to video marketing, we’re going to give you a quick run-down of how to get started.
It’s 2016, so if you have a smart phone, you can create a video marketing campaign. No one said that it had to be a Hollywood production. Start out with what you have. Make sure the audio on your phone is in good condition. You’ll also need a program to edit your work. YouTube Editor and Camtasia are just a couple of examples. Find one that works best for you!
If you want to make a video that’ll convert, draw attention to your brand and potentially lead to some sales, take the following ideas into account.
Strategy
You need a plan. It’s that simple. Successful ventures start with a strategy. Content is king, so tailoring a message that fits your target audience’s needs is imperative.
Here’s what to think about:
- What type of content? Educational, entertainment, practical?
- Who’s your audience? Who are you trying to reach with this campaign?
- What will your audience gain? What value are you providing your audience?
Framework
For video marketing, you need topics, titles, tone and ideas before the “record” button is every pressed.
- Topics: What will you be talking about? Will you use blog posts and transform them into videos? Will create custom content solely for your videos?
- Titles: What will you name your campaign and the videos you’re creating?
- Tone: How do you want to sound? Conversational, professional, or educational? Determine a tone and stick with it.
- Ideas: How are you going to communicate your message? Create a script and a storyboard of your video before shooting.
Hook ‘em
The first three to seven seconds is where you’ll see the highest drop-off rates. This means you have to lead with a right hook, something that’ll catch your audience’s attention. Tease your content, offer the value and introduce a question you’ll answer later. Stale content gets passed over, make it interesting.
This was just the introduction to video marketing campaigns, there’s more where this came from. Stay tuned!
